Afforestation programme
With the mission to plant 1M trees over the next 5 years, SP Group has engaged in an afforestation drive and various forest rejuvenation programs.
The project is in partnership with the Zilla Parishad and local Van Panchayat Samiti. Local community members have been trained to track growth, and survival and keep the mortality of young saplings in check.
Milestones Achieved:
- 4,00,000+ trees have been planted since 2012
- 1061.97 metric tons of CO2 sequestered through our afforestation efforts, as per a study conducted
- The trees planted are entirely from native fruit-bearing plant species, supporting the local villagers with alternate livelihood avenues
